Eat for your Body Type
Ayurvedic Diet Plans
Ayurvedic diet is a meal plan that gives you guidelines for when you eat, what you eat and how you eat in order to boost your health, prevent disease and maintain wellbeing. Ayurvedic diet plan is primarily based on whole and minimally processed foods and mindful eating practice.
In Ayurveda, the optimal diet depends on body constitution (dosha) along with the season, age, demographics and lifestyle.
An Ayurvedic practitioner can help you develop a diet plan by understanding your current diet, lifestyle practices and recent illnesses, and looking at physical characteristics and family history.
Ayurvedic Body Type
The three Ayurvedic body types, or doshas, are Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Each dosha has a unique set of characteristics.
There are several ways to determine your body type. The most accurate is through the detailed history and physical examination by an Ayurvedic practitioner. Most people are a combination of two doshas, but one typically predominates.
